Dr Mel
Dr. Mel Volgaropoulos is a board certified internist, has had a medical practice in Statesville since 1991, and recently began association with the center. He completed his internship and residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Staten Island, N.Y., and received his medical degree from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He also completed clerkships in pediatrics and internal medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mel also focuses on complex conditions of the elderly and can treat patients as young as one year old on an urgent care basis.

Dr Bridges
Dr. Bridges is a graduate of Wright State University School of Medicine and is board-certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. His undergraduate studies in biology were completed at Mount Vernon Nazarene College. He has extensive urgent care experience and specializes in treating adults and children. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the National Medical School Honor Society, and served as chief resident during his final year of residency. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Vickie, and their five children, attending church, and participating in outdoor activities such as camping, hunting, skiing, and boating.

David Zahm
David Zahm was most recently affiliated with Family Medicine in Taylorsville.
He earned his Physician Assistants degree from Albany, N.Y., and completed additional training in respiratory care at Catawba Valley Community College in Hickory, N.C. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the N.C. Academy of Physician Assistants, and the National Board of Respiratory Care. He specializes in Respiratory Disorder and office surgeries. His hobbies include restoring antique tractors, automobiles, and woodworking.

Edward Kabar
Eduardo Kabar, experienced in family practice, pediatrics, and urgent care, received his physician assistant degree from Western University of Medicine in Pomona, California, and is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, the N.C. Medical Board, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the N.C. Medicare Administration. His hobbies include writing music, medical researching, soccer, and he speaks fluent Spanish.

Dan Whisnant
Dan Whisnant received his master of science in nursing and family nurse practitioner degrees from UNCC. He provides ambulatory and urgent care services for patients of all ages. He was previously affiliated with Statesville Primary Care. His experience also includes a clinical rotation in adult cardiac care at the Sanger Cardiology Clinic in Charlotte, caring for ambulatory pediatrics at Piedmont Pediatrics in Rock Hill, and adult internal medicine with Charlotte Medical Clinic/ Internal Medicine. He is a member of the Metrolina Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honors Society.
